Posted by Gustav as Seth Thomas Wall Clocks
The name Seth Thomas has long been associated with superior quality craftsmanship and value, plus a wide variation in beautiful designs and styles, for the consumer to choose from. The company has produced and perfected its craft since 1813 and has earned recognition in the United States as being the longest established clock maker, as well as international renown. This gorgeous antique Seth Thomas wall clock shown here is a very rare and authentic, red brass, Thin Line Maritime Boat clock, circa 1925, in mint condition.

The lustrous sheen of the brass on this Seth Thomas wall clock will draw your eyes immediately upon it. Can you just imagine how phenomenal it would look, if placed in direct sunlight? Its 4 ½-inch, black brass dial not only has Arabic numerals to mark the time, but also has the corresponding military time shown on an inner arc. This is referred to as 12/24 time. Stately black spade hour and minute hands sweep the dial, while a small bit seconds hand is keeping accurate time, in a circle underneath the “12”. Amazingly, these large, easy-to-see, Arabic numerals are luminous and still produce a glow! This spectacular dial is meticulously fitted in a 1 ½-inch red brass case, with a screw-on bezel.
In white, indented, upper case letters, located below the center arbor of this magnificent, antique Seth Thomas wall clock, are the words “ROTH BROS. NEW YORK U.S.A.”. Here is a bit of interesting information: the Roth Bros. have been operating for a long time as New York contractors, with an address in Manhattan. Now let me tell you about a very distinctive operational feature. This remarkable, antique Seth Thomas wall clock has a rare and unique exterior winder, which extends from the bottom of the case. Not only that, but the clock continues to keep excellent time! A well-made Seth Thomas clock will just increase in value and this rare, antique 1925 “Roth Bros.” boat clock is a timeless classic that will become a cherished family heirloom!

Seth Thomas clocks are so classy. I have been looking for some vintage looking wall clocks to suit my antique furniture. I totally forgot about the Seth Thomas clocks until I came across this page. I immediately searched on the line to find out about the collection, I am yet to be satisfied to choose one. The price range seems to be pretty acceptable for its reputation and quality.
